If you do not live in one of those areas, you are welcome to apply for any other positions of interest.
Returning Officers are our senior field leaders, reporting to the Chief Electoral Officer, and responsible for managing the election process in their Electoral District. This includes hiring and leading the district team, managing the office and polling stations, liaising with head office, communicating with the public and stakeholders, and overseeing the counting and reporting of the vote.
These are long term appointments with minimal time commitments between elections for training and preparation work. More activities ramp up when a general election is called to prepare, and on-site, daily availability is required during an election period.
We are looking for people who are non-partisan with strong leadership and communication skills, an ability to manage a team and processes, comfortable with technology and an ability to work in a busy, high volume, public environment. Election experience is an asset, but not required - we provide full, paid training on election processes.
