Nominations for the Commission scolaire francophone du Yukon by-election are now closed, and Frédéric Trussart has been declared elected as a trustee. Thank you to everyone who participated in the process.
The Minister of Education has directed Elections Yukon to conduct a by-election to fill one (1) vacant trustee position on the Commission scolaire francophone du Yukon (CSFY).
Candidate Nominations
Candidate nominations open on Thursday, April 2, and run until Thursday, April 16, at 12:00 pm.
Candidates have until noon on April 16 to submit their nomination papers for the CSFY by-election.
Our chief returning officer will be at the CSSC Mercier from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, to accept nomination papers.

Eligibility to be a candidate in the CSFY by-election
To be a candidate in the Commission scolaire francophone du Yukon by-election, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and either
- are the parent/guardian of a student who attends a school or daycare operated by the Commission scolaire francophone du Yukon OR
- have lived in the Yukon for at least three months and meet the board's language criteria.
- are the parent/guardian of a student who attends a school or daycare operated by the Commission scolaire francophone du Yukon OR
- have lived in the Yukon for at least three months and meet the board's language criteria:
- Have minority language rights under section 23 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, namely:
- French language: the first language learned and still understood is French.
- Primary school instruction: received part of your primary school instruction in Canada in French as a first language.
- Family continuity: a parent whose child is receiving or has received their primary or secondary school instruction in French as a first language

To vote in the Commission scolaire francophone du Yukon by-election, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and either
