LATEST NEWS
  • For Candidates: Nominations close today, Tuesday, October 14 at 2:00 PM.  Candidates who have not yet submitted their nomination papers must immediately contact their returning officers to complete this critical process. No late, incorrect or incomplete submissions will be accepted after 2:00pm as per the Elections Act.
  • List of confirmed candidates: Elections Yukon will be releasing the conformed candidates later this afternoon in a news release and online. Print ads to follow.
  • Canada Post strike. With a shift to rotating job action it is expected Yukon will have mail service resume as of today. Courier delivery and return of special ballots sent outside of the territory delivery will continue.  
ELECTION ACTIVITY
  • Returning offices open 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM today.
  • In-person special ballot voting continues at returning offices. Preparations continue for close of nominations, grant of polls, approving ballots, and  recruiting for Advance and Polling day polls.  
PLEBISCITE
  • Plebiscite information, FAQ’s and a plebiscite voter guide are available on the website and in returning offices.   
REGISTRATIONS
  • Electors can check, update, and register at electionsyukon.ca.
  • Current number of registered electors: 35,645.  
  • Number of registered electors:  35,760 at issue of the writ.
VICs
  • VICs will be mailed out this week.
  • Where Do I Vote? Information and digital Voter Information Cards will be available online by October 15, 2025. 
CANDIDATES
  • Close of Nomination is Tuesday October 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM.  After close of nomination, the returning officer will draw lots to determine name order on the ballot.
  • Candidates Approved by Elections Yukon:  61
ADVANCE POLLS
  • Open Sunday and Monday, October 26 and 27, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
  • Days remaining until first day of Advance Poll: 12
SPECIAL BALLOTS
  • Early in-person special ballot voting is open to all electors at returning offices.
  • Special ballot applications close October 21, 2025, 8:00 PM for mail out.   Applications remain open at Returning Offices until Friday October 31, 2025.
  • Days remaining to apply for special ballot: 17
  • Total special ballots issued by returning office and mail out: 587
  • Special ballots sent by courier: 87   Returned: 0
POLLING DAY
  • Polling Day is Monday, November 3, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
  • Days remaining until polling day: 20
