Special Ballots

Before continuing to the secure Special Ballot application to apply for a Special Ballot, here is what you need to know:

  1. To be included on the list of electors, on polling day you must be at least 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of the Yukon for at least 12 months prior to polling day.
    • NOTE: 16 and 17 years olds can register if they meet all other requirements.  They will not be eligible to vote until they reach 18 years of age.  They will be added to the List of Electors when they reach 18 years of age, are eligible to vote if they turn 18 years old on polling day.
  2. To apply for a Special Ballot:
    • You will need to supply your legal name, (even if you go by your middle name use your legal first name as it appears on your Government ID or Passport), current civic address (this is your primary residence not your mailing address) and date of birth. If you have moved, changed your name, or need to correct your civic address (primary residence) continue with registration.

Updating information includes addresses and any other corrections. As well, you can add contact information to allow any follow up by email or telephone.

Once your information is verified at Elections Yukon you will be added to the register. You can check your status online to confirm your registration within a reasonable time to process. Be sure that current ID reflects the new residential address to verify change in address and name changes.
