A Yukon Electoral District Boundaries Commission is periodically appointed to review the electoral districts of the Yukon.

Interim Report

The Commission's Interim Report was released on May 10, 2024. 

Public hearings are being held to hear your comments on the proposed boundaries, numbers, and names of the electoral districts of the Yukon outlined in the Interim Report.

What does the Commission do?

The Commission was appointed on December 14, 2023. Their mandate is to review the existing electoral districts and make proposals to the Legislative Assembly on the boundaries, number, and name of the Yukon’s electoral districts. 

Commission members

  • Chief Justice Suzanne Duncan, Chair, member by legislation
  • Maxwell Harvey, Chief Electoral Officer, member by legislation
  • Patricia Cunning, chosen by the Yukon Liberal Party
  • Warren Holland, chosen by the Yukon Party
  • Elizabeth Hanson, chosen by the Yukon New Democratic Party

The Commission submitted an interim report to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly on May 9, 2024. They will submit a final report to the Speaker no later than October 9, 2024.

The Legislative Assembly will introduce an Electoral District Boundaries Act based on the Commission's proposal. Once enacted the electoral boundaries will come into effect 6 months after assent.
