Apply for a Mail-in Ballot in the 2022 school board elections

Applications for mail-in ballots are now closed.

1. Check your eligibility

To be eligible to vote or be a candidate, you must be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age on polling day. Each school board has specific eligibility criteria. Check your eligibility for the board you're voting in.



2. Have your identification ready

Identification must by uploaded with your online application. Most electors opt to upload a photo of their Yukon driver's license or General Identification Card. Other options are available.

3. Know how to return your ballot

All ballots must be received by Elections Yukon in Whitehorse by Polling Day at 8:00 pm.

Mail-in ballots can be returned by:

  1. Mail
    Ballot kits will contain an addressed and stamped envelope. Electors should consider mail delivery times.
  2. Hand deliver to Elections Yukon
    During business hours mail-in ballots can be returned to Elections Yukon's offices in Whitehorse.
  3. Dropbox at Elections Yukon
    The dropbox is located north of the main entrance to the Jim Smith Building (near the entrance to the old public library). The drop box is available 24-hours a day during the election.


Returning Officers cannot accept completed mail-in ballots. They must be returned to Elections Yukon.
