Register to vote in a Yukon territorial election

You can register to vote at any time. Registering ahead of an election means that you will get important updates from Elections Yukon once an election is called, including a personalized voter information card that tells you where, when, and the many ways you can vote in a territorial election.

Being on the list will also make the voting process faster and easier.

Who can register?

To be added to the register, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen, and
  • have been a resident of the Yukon for at least 12 months,
  • be at least 16 years old*
    *if you are 16 or 17 years old, you can pre-register as a future voter. You will be automatically added to the register when you turn 18.

What information do you need?

The online registration portal will ask for your:

  • legal name, 
  • date of birth, and
  • civic address (the address where you live).

If you are registering for the first time or updating your information, you will need to upload ID that shows your name and address. Your name and address on your ID must match your registration. Most people use their Yukon driver's license or general identification card. There are 50+ ID options.
