The Minister of Education has directed Elections Yukon to conduct a by-election to fill one (1) vacant trustee position on the First Nation School Board (FNSB).

Important updates

One candidate withdrew from the First Nation School Board by-election. The remaining candidate, Mats’äsäna Mą Primozic of Haines Junction, has been declared elected by acclamation.

 


 

Eligibility to vote or be a candidate in the First Nation School Board by-election

To vote or be a candidate in the First Nation School Board by-election, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and either:

  • be the parent of a student who attends a school operated by the First Nation School Board or
  • be a member or entitled to be a member of a Yukon First Nation and have an ancestral language that is a Yukon First Nation language and have been a resident of the Yukon for at least three months.

If you are unsure if your school is operated by the First Nation School Board (FNSB), consult the list of schools on our site or contact your school principal.

 


Vote in the First Nation School Board by-election

 

With the withdrwal of one candidate, applications to vote in the First Nation School Board by-election are closed.
